My karma is catching up with me!

Sun Oct 11, 2009, 5:01 PM
I am a strong believer in the power of karma. If you do good things, good things will happen to you!

That is why I always try to do good things and make the right choices.

And today, all that good karma paid off spectacularly.

I had my portfolio review, and everything was absolutely perfect and in my favor.

The reviewer was a graphic designer, like I wanted to be, and he really believed in studying abroad, which is what I want to do! He also loved the fact that I had so much variety in my portfolio, since in my freshman year I will be exposed to many different techniques and mediums.

Basically, by the time the interview was done, he said, and I quote: "You did very well. I'm going to write a good recommendation for you."

:excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

I had to work hard to fight down the idiotic grin that was spreading across my face :D

The best part was that the lady who talked to us beforehand said we wouldn't be able to tell if our interviewer was going to write a good review or not...

:D :D :D :D :D :D

In case you can't tell, I'm overjoyed right now.

I spent the next hour squeeing uncontrollably and babbling on about how perfect my review was ^_^

I've basically been accepted into my one true university love! Eeeek!!! :boogie:

Okay, I'm done. For now XD

Portfolio stuffs: College, here I come! (Almost)

I had today set aside to go through my artwork and set aside my best pieces for my portfolio review at U of M, which is coming up in a few weeks. Together with my mom, we rooted out the 'eh' work from the really good stuff.

I'm really proud of how diverse my artwork is. :D

I have a little bit of everything: wood sculpture, wax sculpture, traditional drawing, charcoal, watercolors, digital photography, and of course digital artwork.

I'm really looking forward to my portfolio review, but I'm also kind of nervous...

The good news is, I've applied early, so once my recommendation forms and portfolio review are sent in, I'll find out fairly quickly if I've been accepted.

:fingerscrossed:

Until then, I'm stuck in high school XD

Beer Pong and other things

Sun Aug 9, 2009, 9:21 AM
WARNING: This journal entry may be long and random.

I'm finally back from my three weeks at Interlochen Arts Camp. There were some bad moments, but overall it was good. I made some awesome friends, such as :iconphantomphenox: (Hey girl!), got to play on giant Mac computers, made some cool artwork in Photoshop, handmade books, used a hammer and chisel to make a stone sculpture, and overall had tons of fun. The food was less than stellar and the beds were squeaky and uncomfortable, but I had fun :D

After Interlochen I went to my grandma's house for a family reunion, including my cousins from Kentucky, one with fiance in tow, the other with his girlfriend. Had a blast, got to go canoeing and tubing.

But the best part was when my younger sister and I beat our fraternity boy cousin and his girlfriend at beer pong. It was hilarious to see our cousin's face when I sunk the ping pong ball... His brother teased him mercilessly ^_^

Overall, awesome time.

Then I finally get back home, after being gone for a month. I want nothing more than to collapse into my bed and sleep for 24 hours. But as I'm hugging my dad, I peer over his shoulder into the dining room and notice something peculiar... Something peculiar in the shape of a nearly new Macintosh computer sitting on the table. I soon recognize it as my grandma's computer which has the Sims 3 on it. After staring at it blankly for a few seconds, I then proceed to shriek in joy and give my dad a HUGE bear hug while screaming 'THANK-YOU!!!!' over and over again ^_^.

Needless to say, I didn't get to bed until about 1 in the morning.

Oh, and I'm about halfway done with my college application to the University of Michigan, which makes me very happy and so ready for college to start.

I think that's it. :D

Told you it would be long...

Interlochen and Sims 3

Sat Jul 11, 2009, 9:26 AM
Tomorrow morning I will be on my way to a 3 week summer arts camp known as Interlochen Center for the Arts. I will be studying graphic arts, which basically means I get to play on Macs for 3 weeks. Heaven on Earth, I say!

And I get to learn about metal casting! Yay blow torches!

Needless to say, I will be absent for the next few weeks, and won't be updating/writing/faving.

So not looking forward to all the messages and deviations when I return...

And OMG I FINALLY GOT TO PLAY SIMS 3 AND IT ROCKS MY RAINBOW SOCKS!!! :excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited:

It was so awesome! I made my family, and we all looked like ourselves! And the personality traits are AWESOME!!

I made myself a bookworm, computer whiz, and absent-minded, because I forget things easily :D

And then I made a kleptomaniac insane evil lucky chick who looks AWESOME and she's gonna become the Empress of Evil :D

I  Sims 3 :D

Sims 3 and College Essays

Tue Jun 23, 2009, 6:38 AM
ZOMG GUESS WHO IS THE PROUD OWNER OF THE SIMS 3???!?!??!?!??!?

ME!!!!!! :excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited::excited:

Yes, I now posses my own copy of The Sims 3. But not just The Sims 3, oh no.

I own The Sims 3 COLLECTOR'S EDITION!!!! :excited::excited::excited::excited::excited:

The summer camp I'm going to in a few weeks requires that I bring a 2GB travel drive with me. So I said offhandedly to my mom "You know, The Sims 3 collector's edition has a 2GB travel drive with it, shaped like a plumbob..."

And you know what she said??

"All right. Let's get it."

I was dancing inside :boogie:

So we skeedadled over to Best Buy, used a $20 gift card, and got the Collector's edition for the price of the normal edition. I am now oogling the shiny box and playing with my new travel drive excessively.

I r happy :D

Oh, and I have 3 of my 4 college application essays written. I'm awesome

I love summer
